Zambia to start digital migration training next year

Zambia plans to introduce digital migration training programmes next year to assist migration from analogue to digital broadcasting.

“The training programmes will be for the people engaged by the government to run the digital migration process. I’m optimistic that the digital migration programme will create jobs across the country,” said David Chakonta, Director General of technical education and vocational training.

In July this year, the government had awarded a USD 9 million contract to Chinese firm, Star Software Technology Company Limited, for the supply, installation and commissioning of Phase I of the National Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting System.
