OSN will broadcast a documentary about Diego Maradona

The Dubai-based pay TV network, OSN, will screen an exclusively documentary on football legend, Diego Maradona on its entertainment network. The documentary will be based on more than 500 hours of unpublished footage, which will be directed by Asif Kapadia which will showcase the career of the famous footballer Diego Armando Maradona and on how a poor Argentinian has become one of the most controversial footballers and most controversial 1980s.

Diego Maradona went on air on December 7th at 8pm in Saudi Arabia and at 9pm in the United Arab Emirates. A British project was produced by On The Corner Film, in association with Film 4 which documents the moment the transfer of Maradona from FC Barcelona to S.S.C. Napoli on July 5, 1984 for a record fee. The documentary covers Maradona’s life before his final victory in Serie A and the 1988-1989 UEFA Cup with the Italian team.

Oscar winner Asif Kapadia has managed to create a documentary that will appeal to the masses. Diego Maradona reported more than 4 million dirhams when he left the UK and more than 5 million dirhams in the other territories, for a gross total of nearly 10 million dirhams worldwide.

Diego Maradona is available as part of Reality Check, a segment of the OSN news channel. Reality Check is a selection of documentaries focusing on different genres, including biographical and human interest stories, political, historical, technological, scientific and spatial events.
