East Africa based Azam Media Limited had inked a long-term contract with Eutelsat Communications to use its 108 MHz of capacity on the Eutelsat 7A satellite and broadcast its new TV venture, AzamTV, into sub-Saharan Africa, starting from its base in Tanzania.
Soon to be launched AzamTV, will constitute over 55 African and international channels for a monthly subscription of USD 8. The platform will include three home-grown channels, Azam One, Azam Two and Sinema Zetu. Earlier in October, Azam Media had inked an agreement with TBC to air live Mainland’s Vodacom Premier League matches.
“The arrival of AzamTV as a trans-continental pay-TV platform finally marks the availability of affordable and high-quality digital channels for viewers in Tanzania and way beyond.” said, Rhys Torrington, CEO, Azam Media.
