Africell expected to be the fourth telecommunication operator in Angola

Africell has been selected by the Angolan government to present a bid for licence to become the country’s fourth telecommunications operator. The applications process started on 30 September 2019 and ended on 22 January 2020, and three companies – South Africa’s MTN, Africell Holding of Lebanon and Angola’s BAI Investimentos, purchased the tender documents, but only Africell formalised the bid.

The Evaluation Committee, after formal examination of the application documents submitted by Africell Holding, decided unanimously on its qualification and was invited by the public entity contractor to submit its proposal.

Africell is an international operator, with 18 years of activity in the telecommunications sector, and is present in four African countries: Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sierra Leone and Uganda.
