Zimbabwean Government has licensed telecommunication company Kwese TV, a development which is thought to bring competition to DStv. KweseTV is changing the face of television as it is believed to bring to life the concept of TV everywhere and anywhere.
Econet Wireless Zimbabwe employees were given decoders while Kwese TV readies the launch of the services in the country. The executive assistant to the Group’s CEO, Lovemore Nyatsine said, “It’s still premature for me to comment because there are certain procedures that are being followed. We are actually not licensed, as in that manner, certain processes need to be done.”
Kwese free sport has 13 million viewers on the free-to-air satellite in Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, Zambia, Botswana and covers five more African regions. By the end of the year, the company hopes to be launched in 20 countries altogether.
