Zambia received equipment for DTT migration

New digital migration equipment for 36 sites and six provincial television stations arrived in Zambia. The Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services Godfrey Malama has reviewed and approved these pieces of equipment. It has been reported that the hardware comes from the Chinese contractor Star Software Technology.

The Permanent Secretary declared that installation at 5 mains sites of the have already started with Star Software Technology. The Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) has been favorable on the project since it will offer a TV platform for the population and also will help to easily establish television stations.

 ZNBC Director General Richard Mwanza declared that the historical broadcaster has now over 40 channels on the the TopStar set top box (STB) and will have more than 100 once the digital migration will be completed.
