Yahsat, the UAE-based satellite operator, has introduced its broadband service YahClick in Ghana. Yahsat also presented its collaboration with regional ISPs Comsys and Teledata to deliver the services.
Yahsat informed the service will help reduce the substantial economic losses in recent years due to frequent internet disruptions in Africa. In Ghana, each communication breakdown costs the country approximately USD 6.3 million a day, with disruptions expected to total 22 days in 2018. Using the Ka-band powered by its High Throughput Satellite (HTS) spot beam technology, YahClick’s services will allow communities, businesses and the government to maintain services.
In addition, the service is supposed to benefit government supported initiatives especially in education and healthcare.
