Vodafone Qatar has recently communicated that it is extending its 5G network in six key areas across Qatar, namely Abu Hamour, Al Azizya, Al Mamoura, Al Rayyan, Salwa Road, and Umm Salal Muhammed.
Vodafone stated that the plan follows the company’s objectives to switched on its first live 5G network to connect it’s first trial enterprise customer- Gulf Bridge International.
The telecom operator specified that the fifth generation of wireless technology is vital to cope with the growth in demand for ever-higher speeds, capacity and reliability.
Consequently, the 5G network will provide a more reliable experience for the end users in terms of gaming, virtual reality, augment reality applications and new business cases such as the industrial Internet of Things (IoT), connected healthcare and automated vehicles.
Moreover, businesses across all sectors will be able to track their operations in real time.
The CEO of Vodafone Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Abdulla Jassim Al Thani, declared,“Vodafone Qatar’s 5G network rollout is well underway in the country with ambitious plans to bring our customers lighting speeds and innovative solutions that will enhance their lives and drive economic growth and productivity in Qatar.”
To recall, Vodafone Qatar connected the first enterprise customer- Gulf Bridge International (GBI) to the 5G network earlier this year.
