TruSpot to launch TV, radio station

African social music and entertainment network, TruSpot, plans to launch its digital television and radio station by March 2014 aiming it to “become Africa’s own MTV”.

“The radio and television station will showcase African music video including artist’s concert shows and will be accessible through almost all devices,” said Ikena Orizu, CEO and founder, TruSpot.

This announcement comes a week before the company plans to unveil a new content on-demand platform service.  According to Orizu, the company will top 100,000 tracks on its platform and have over 5,000 artists, making it the largest music streaming service in Africa.
