Tigo introduced 4G+ in Tanzania

Mobile operator Tigo Tanzania introduced the 4G+ network promising data customers “an ultra-fast digital experience”.

The Chief Technical and Information Officer of Tigo, Jerome Albou, said, “The launch of 4G+ is in line with Tigo’s transformative journey and the company’s objective of offering customers the best digital experience.”

Tigo subscribers with a 4G+ enabled smartphone can have access to ultra-fast downloads at normal internet bundle rates.

On the other hand, Tarik Boudiaf, Tigo’s Chief Commercial Officer, specified, “We are now competing with the developed nations who are currently rolling out 5G technology. The latest generation of mobile communication technology in Tanzania denote that full possibilities of internet are now opened to our customers.”

The mobile operator stated its 4G network can reach speeds of up to 60Mbps and the new 4G+ doubles the speed to reach 120Mbps.

According to a statement, Tigo 4G+ network has been launched in five main cities of the country namely; Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Morogoro, Moshi and Dodoma with further expansion to other cities.
