SuperSport recently teamed-up with British gaming channel Ginx TV, which will be offering a 24 hours service to DStv Now as well as DStv DTH subscribers. Some of Mega 8 eSport , events have been acquiered by Ginx TV and will be streamed to the South African audiences.
Mega8 general manager Given Radingwana declared: “We as a team sat down and asked ourselves, how can we actually make it easier for the average Joe to watch our eSports tournaments? Because 40% of eSports viewers are actually not competitive gamers, but people who play occasionally. Then when we caught wind that Ginx TV was coming to South Africa, it felt like a match made in the stars. We sat down with their team, showed them our content and explained to them what our goal was, which is to make eSports matches available to all, regardless of demographic or [income group], because like any other sport, it also aims to unite us as people, as a country. They loved our work and the rest, as they say, is history.”
Mega 8 has already experience in e-sport since they broadcasted DOTA 2 Winter Cup on Ginx and will go on with their e-Sport adventure.
