StarTimes offering upgrades to boost retention in Kenya

The company announced a reward programme in Kenya, providing upgrades to higher bouquet without extra cost as well as bonus airtime to subscribers when renewing their monthly subscriptions. This offer aims to expand the retention rate while extending benefits to dormant ones, hence encouraging account re-activation. The vice president, Mark Lisboa, noted that for every subscription made on the Basic bouquet, customers will get a week’s automatic upgrade to the unique bouquet.

Subscribers who renew their packages before it expires will be allowed 10% bonus airtime as well as the week-long upgrade. These incentives will be extended to satellite television customers. The Digital Terrestrial Basic package cost US$5.77 for over 40 international channels, Classic package costs US$ 9.62 a month with over 60 international channels and the Unique one costs US$14.44 with over 75 international channels.

Satellite TV customers get over 70 channels on the Smart bouquet for less that US$9, with the Super bundle costing US$14.44 per month with access to over 100 channels, some in HD.
