StarTimes launches Hausa channel

Chinese- pay TV operator, StarTimes, has launched a new Hausa channel, Dadin Kowa, in Nigeria which will air a range of Hausa programmes including, drama, documentary, talk shows, movies, music and education.

“The channel, which is currently targeted at the whole family, is aimed at showcasing the rich cultural attributes of the Hausa people,” said Ayokunle Idowu, Content Manager of the NTA-Star TV Network. “The content of new channel will include some Hausa-dubbed Chinese drama series which were translated by Nigerians.”

Apart from StarTimes, DStv also airs two major Nigerian language channels- Hausa and Yoruba, in its bouquets.
