StarTimes, the Chinese TV company in Africa, announced on Friday night the rich football broadcast schedule to Kenyan subscribers. The comprehensive live football offering is composed of international tournaments and European football leagues in the pay-TV industry in Kenya. StarTimes subscribers in Kenya can enjoy over 1,336 live football matches.
StarTimes Vice President, Mark Lisboa said during the unveiling ceremony, “The company has since achieved an enviable milestone by extending a rich menu of football offering that will be exclusively broadcast on StarTimes effective tonight. By so doing, Kenyan households will enjoy access to the content through the company’s affordable pay television platform.”
The Chinese company secured the pay TV rights transmission last year for exploitation in Kenya and other sub-Saharan African regions. This move will see Kenyan sports fans enjoying access to a wide range of football tournaments between now and July 2018.
StarTimes has dedicated five sports channels to the broadcasting of the respective tournaments including 2 channels showing the sports in high definition namely Sports Premium and World Premium.
