Saudi Arabia and Bahrain slab new subscriptions to BeIN

After the ban of Al-jazeera channels and website in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, the two countries decided to block new subscriptions to BeIN Media, the Qatar based pay-TV network.

The network holds Middle East holds many rights for Major FIFA events such as the World Cup or event national event such as English Premier League. These will still be accessible for existing subscribers.

The UAE suspended the reception of the network already and claimed that BeIN sports channels had not obtained the required licence to sell or renew subscriptions.

Qatar’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said there will be no discussion about the fate of the Doha-based broadcaster with those nations that have imposed a blockade on Qatar.
