The kykNET drama, Sara se Geheim season 1 finale sent social media platform abuzz on Tuesday as fans commented. For the past 13 weeks, viewers have been cohered to their TV screens as the stories of two families connected by a lie unfolded on DSTV 144. kykNET confirmed a second season of the popular drama is currently in pre-production.
According to Anneke Villet, commissioning editor for Sara Se Geheim, the program was acclaimed as a deeply moving experience by the viewers. “The universal themes of love, sacrifice, loss, scandal and lies spoke to a broad spectrum of viewers both young and old. Season two will reveal even more secrets. Sara’s biggest secret threatens to be revealed while Johan and Nicola’s marriage falls apart. The struggles of Maggie is far from over and Astonia’s rape case plays out in court.” She says hinting at what viewers could expect from the second season.
Producer Roberta Durrant from Penguin Films confirmed that the writers are busy with the scripts and they hope to begin filming in Cape Town in October 2017.
Viewers will however have to wait until 2018 for the second season to air on kykNET.
