Safaricom, has called for local governments across the nation to increase development through public private partnerships (PPPs). The telecommunications company has asked for the government to explore innovative ideas in PPPs.

“With the implementation of the Big Four Agenda now at the top of everyone’s mind, there is a huge opportunity for partnerships between us in the private sector and both levels of government to help accomplish the noble objective of improving people’s lives,” stated Joseph Ogutu, Chief Special Projects Officer at Safaricom.

Ogutu announced the news at the Sixth Devolution Conference held in Kirinyaga County, citing the company’s M-Tiba project as an example of innovation from the private sector.
