SABC cancelled TNA Business Breakfast show

SABC announced the shutdown of the famous morning emission program “TNA Business Breakfast show”. This decision was taken despite the 11 months’ notice that was written in the contract.

It has been told that since the coming of Hlaudi Motsoeneng followed by the increasing number of The New Age show, the cost for SABC went from US$ 1.5 million (R20 million) to US$ 3.5 million (R45). Meanwhile the channel stated that the show was not bringing any profit.

The public broadcaster has had many scandals over the past years like the suspicion of the R600m protocol abuse of Hlaudi Motsoeneng. A Special Investigating Unit has been formed to uncover illegal activities in the company.

The investigations are still in progress and Motsoeneng is still the main suspect first for its US$ 27.246 (R350.000) monthly salary and for its 90% content quota on radio which has been cancelled by the board to keep the advertisers.
