Ooredoo introduces its 10Gbps service in Middle East

Ooredoo, the Qatari based telecommunications company, has launched its 10Gbps fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service in the Middle East region, most specifically in Qatar. A broader commercial rollout of the service will be followed in the coming months.

Waleed Al Sayed, Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Qatar: “We’re delighted to be officially launching our 10Gpbs fibre service for Qatar. This week is all about demonstrating Ooredoo’s data experience leadership, and we continue to set new milestones by expanding and enhancing the Ooredoo Supernet for mobile and fibre customers”.

With this new service from Ooredoo, customers will enjoy the fastest fibre speeds in Qatar which is ten times faster than the norm. Users will be allowed to download HD movies at a more rapid pace and other services like the virtual reality and Ultra High Definition TV (UHDTV) will be improved. This new development will contribute to the broader strategy of Ooredoo introducing its 5G services and the offering of 8K TV technology.
