Ooredoo introduces first 4K/UHD channels with Harmonic in Middle East

Harmonic, the video delivery infrastructure has declared that Ooredoo, the worldwide telecommunications operator has introduced the first 4K TV channels in the Middle East region. The new channel is called the FunBox UHD and C4K360 and uses the latest ElectraTM video compression solution for the IP environments.

Offering a combination of 24/7 programming, the new channel will offer live TV, time shift TV and video-on-demand (VOD) content. Crystal-clear UHD video is ensured with Harmonic’s Electra VS convergent video system which supports IPTV delivery. The quality of the video is enhanced with Electra VS system assits UHD with HDR.
