The Qatari telecommunications company, Ooredoo, launched the new 50Mbps Ooredoo Fibre Plan. This deployment has been designed to ensure everyone in the region to have access to affordable and high-speed home broadband.
This action was taken after the company listened to its customer feedback showing their need for higher speeds of internet at home. At only US$110 per month, the 50Mbps Fibre Plan offers will see customers enjoying a download speed of 50Mbps and an upload speed of up to 25Mbps.
In addition to the broadband connection speed, the Ooredoo customers will enjoy a landline rental service and the company’s smart entertainment service, Ooredoo TV inclusive in the monthly package. The Director of PR and Corporate Communications of Ooredoo Qatar, Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi said, “This new plan is perfect for our customers who use streaming services or like to download content and play games online. We understand that not everyone wants the same fibre package and speed, so we’re launching a new 50Mbps option to ensure all our customers’ needs are covered from our standard 10Mbps plan all the way to the super-fast 1Gbps or even 10Gbps for select customers in Qatar.”
The new fibre plan spans across Qatar with more than 300,000 homes and businesses currently benefiting from super-fast internet connection and next generation services. A map is available on the Ooredoo website to check for fibre availability regions. Customers can check whether they are in a fibre-ready region and how to apply for a fibre upgrade.
