New channel ‘No For Now’ launched in Kurdistan

A new channel, ‘No For Now’ has been launched to broadcast over Nilesat frequency in the Kurdistan Region. The channel branched from the movement ‘No For Now’ on the referendum over the Kurdistan independence. The full launch of the channel is expected in the near future.

The channel will bring together intellectuals and civil activists to encourage people to vote ‘No’ in the referendum on independence of Kurdistan. During an interview with NRT’s Tawtwe program, Shaswar Abdulwahid, the owner and founder of  Nalia Company announced a new movement to launch the campaign “No for Now” over the Kurdistan Region’s referendum on independence, originally set for September 25.

At the same time, a number of lawmakers in Soran filed a lawsuit against Abdulwahid due to his announcement of the new movement concerning the referendum. The lawmakers called on the public prosecutor to take legal action against Abdulwahid.
