Zimbabwe-based telecom operator, NetOne Cellular (NetOne), has acquired analogue broadcasting frequency for USD200 million. The frequency was utilised by Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation and Transmedia.
“NetOne bought the frequency that was being used by television. This money will now be used for digitalisation,” said Supa Mandiwanzira, Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Minister in the National Assembly.
The scheduled deadline for digitalisation in the country is June 2015.
