Qatari viewers now welcome a new channel in the name of ‘MBC+ Ooredoo Channel’. The channel will be available on channel number 180 of Ooredoo TV and will provide MBC’s Arabic content including Tabakh Al Sultan, Scoop, Dahsha, El Hokm, El Hob Al Halal.
The channel has been launched following a multiyear Memorandum of Understanding signed between the MBC Group and Ooredoo. The latter also holds the rights to the high definition (HD) channels of MBC which include MBC1, MBC2, MBC3, MBC4, MBC Drama, MBC MAX, MBC Action, MBC+ Drama and MBC+ Variety.
Waleed al Sayed, the CEO of Ooredoo Qatar, said: “The new channel is aimed at providing Ooredoo TV customers with all the popular MBC HD programmes across MENA at one place. Now, our viewers will not need to change channels to watch their favourite MBC shows. All will be available in one channel.”
Further, he said: “This channel will prove to be a milestone for our entertainment portfolio, as it will strive to provide the content our customers want at one place, with the highest quality picture”.
Sam Barnett, the CEO of MBC Group, commented: “The speed and sophistication of the network provided by Ooredoo will ensure that viewers in Qatar will be able to experience audiovisual content at industry leading levels of quality”.
“It was only a few months ago when we announced our intention to work together, and now our combined teams are ready to launch both MBC+ Ooredoo and our premium video on demand service SHAHID PLUS”, he also added.
