Liquid Telecom partners with Kymeta Corporation to provide internet connectivity across Africa

The pan-African telecommunications company, Liquid Telecom intends to bring Internet connectivity in Africa and has inked a service agreement with the American company Kymeta Corporation, which specializes in providing internet connectivity through its network combining cellular and satellite technology. The collaboration was recently endorsed at the African Telecommunications Exhibition, AfricaCom.

The Director of the satellite and VSAT division at Liquid Telecom, Scott Mumford, explained that “this new strategic partnership between Liquid Telecom and Kymeta marks a decisive moment in the evolution of VSAT services for the African continent. By combining the latest Liquid VSAT Internet platform with Kymeta’s satellite terminals, the companies bring unmatched connection quality, speed and availability to people on the move and in places never connected before.”

According to Neville Meijers, Commercial Director of Kymeta Corporation, this new satellite mobility partnership offers unlimited communication opportunities for Liquid Telecom in Africa. “This broadband platform for the mass market can be deployed quickly and easily without qualified personnel, providing Gigabit connectivity instantly and anywhere,” he declared.

The agreement between Liquid Telecom and Kymeta has the same final objectives as the one signed last May by the pan-African company with China Telecom Global: strengthen its data capabilities, expand its presence in Africa to win new customers and record new revenues in the segment of the Internet.
