Cinemoz, Beirut based video on demand platform has rolled out ‘Moz Originals: The return of Arab imagination’, an original content channel exclusively to “Arab genre and entertainment”. The OTT start-up which introduced its free-to-view on-demand video service in 2011 will release an array of exclusive streaming content from November 30.
The information was communicated on the company’s twitter account with a trailer of the video showcasing the new original productions, Cinemoz line-up of content comprises of the award-winning Lebanese short sci-fi film Last Days of the Man of Tomorrow. Also available is the comedy mini-series created by Cinemoz, Arabs in Space that showcases a unique crew of not-so-carefully picked Arab explorers who are sent into deep space to save the Middle East and what remains of its civilization.
Cinemoz introduced its first original shows in 2017, specifying it is part of their perspective to disrupt how premium Arabic genre entertainment is produced and watched. The focus is on the growing demographic of Arab speaking online viewers across Egypt, the GCC, the Levant, North Africa and the Arab diaspora. Cinemoz’s vision is to provide a platform for developing local production talent via the online video service.
The AVOD platform co-founders Karim Safieddine and Maroun Najm, offers subscribers access to an array of entertainment content from the Arab World, including films, TV series, documentaries and shorts. With a content acquisition strategy emphasized on attracting Arab viewers, Cinemoz is collaborating with major regional studios and independent filmmakers to acquire titles, including classic titles from Hollywood, Bollywood and Egyptian cinema.
