ipNX Nigeria Limited, a leading fibre optic cable network provider, announced the addition of television services to its Fibre Optic Service (FoS) product bouquet making it the first firm to offer Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service in the country.
ipNX’s FoS services is currently available in Lekki, Ikoyi and plans to expand to Magodo and Ikeja areas of Lagos State as well as FCT Abuja. Over 1,000 set-up boxes were delivered to ipNX FoS subscribers earlier this week for testing ipNX TV for functionality, content and reliability.
ipNX TV carries both live TV channels and video on-demand (VOD) covering an array of genres including news, movies, lifestyle, education, religion, music etc. that viewers can personalise for maximum entertainment. Last year, ipNX FoS announced residential broadband packages with speeds starting from 10Mbps for NGN 10,000 (USD 61.6) per month and another package offering 15Mbps priced NGN 15,000 (USD 92.4) per month.
“The launch of ipNX TV fulfils our strategic objective of becoming Nigeria’s first multi system operator to deliver Triple-play services i.e. internet, television and telephony to our customers,” said Ejovi Aror, group managing director at ipNX.
