Dubai-based IPTV provider, icflix, is looking to partner with Arab production houses and produce up to eight Arab-language movies a year, according to Carlos Tibi, CEO of the online streaming service. “We want to ensure that Arab content is of the same entertainment and production quality as our Hollywood and Bollywood films,” said Tibi.
The company already has content supply deals with the Egyptian Radio & TV Union (ERTU) and Arab Radio and Television Network (ART) and launched its IPTV services in mid-2012, offering programming in Arabic, English and French. Icflix offers its Arabic content under the Jazwood brand, which is available worldwide. Its Bollywood service is available worldwide, except India, while its Hollywood service is only available in the Middle East and North Africa.
A subscription costs USD 7.99 per month and is available via smart phone, tablet or laptop, or at home via their computer, smart TV or games console.
