HAC in Gabon suspends SatCon for 3 months

In Gabon, the High Authority of Communication (HAC) has suspended for 3 months, the television operator SatCon. Authorities blame the company for providing matches of the 2018 football world cup by illegally offering its subscribers the signal of BeIN Sports.

This is not the first time that such facts have been blamed on SatCon. The operator launched in 2010, has been put on notice many times by the regulator regarding this practice. Operators whose signals were hacked also increased the number of complaints against the hacker.

The suspension comes after a formal notice, dated August 8 addressed to the operator, in which the HAC warned SatCon against the piracy of BeIN Sports signal. Despite this notice, the operator continued to offer BeIN Sports programs.
