African pay-TV platform, MultiChoice, confirmed the launch of its pay-DTT service, GOtv, in Sierra Leone within the next two months. This will be the eleventh African country where GOtv has expanded its reach.
The CEO of MultiChoice, Nico Meyer, confirmed the launch during MultiChoice’s First African Content show, and stated that the DTT platform, will screen local content when it enters the Sierra Leonean market.
While GOtv has a strong presence in Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria and Zambia, the company launched its services in Rwanda and Mozambique in 2014. However, in January 2014, GOtv service in Zimbabwe was rolled back.
