GINX Esports TV, the UK-based international media company, dedicated to the creation of esports TV channels around the world was launched on Cellcom, Israeli’s IPTV platform, on Sunday 25th June. Ginx Esport says the launching represents its commitment to expanding its reach to an emerging Esports audience.
The 24/7 esports and gaming network which is available in over 45m homes across 80 countries, is launching with one of the newest players of the Israeli pay-tv market. Cellcom Israel is the leading Israeli communications group and is operating its IPTV service since 2015.
GINX Esports TV will be offering content that specifically serves Millennial subscribers in Israel. IT will be targeting this key demographic for the kind of innovative and affordable internet based TV services, where VOD, OTT and other non-linear viewing environments play a central role for younger subscribers.
“We are delighted to launch GINX Esports TV on Cellcom TV and also to add Hebrew to the nine languages we already broadcast in. Israel has a vibrant esports scene and has produced some world-class esports athletes. We look forward to bringing our channel to Cellcom TV subscribers.” said Michiel Bakker, CEO of Ginx TV.
Yaniv Gruenwald, VP of Television and Content of Cellcom Israel, added: “Cellcom TV offers the most cost effective and innovative television experience, and is the only player who’s adding subscribers in the Israeli television market over the past two years. Now, for the first time on the television screen in Israel, fans of gaming and esports will also enjoy viewing the leading channel in this genre.”
