Since the launch of its low-cost wireless Internet access service, called Express Wi-Fi, on March 29, 2017, in partnership with the Internet service provider (ISP) Surf, the American company Facebook Reveals that 600 Wi-Fi hotspots have already been deployed across the country. In addition to Nairobi, service is already available in the cities of Eldoret, Naivasha, Nakuru, Mtwapa, Kisumu and Mombasa.
In the columns of The Nation newspaper, Mark Summer, Surf Kenya’s general manager said that Wi-Fi Express is currently enjoying great success in the marketplace because it offers. He said, “high-speed, high-quality Internet access at a very affordable price for consumers, especially in public areas where they work and play. “
The Wi-Fi Express project, launched in February last February, when it tested the service as an alternative to the low coverage of the data network of mobile operators and other ISPs in several regions of the country and their high rates.
