ESPN acquired NHL rights for ESPN Player OTT product in Europe and Africa

ESPN acquired NHL rights for its OTT platform in Europe and Africa. The deal sees three live games per week during the regular season along with on-demand access. Every game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the sport’s premiere tournament, will be available live and on demand.

Coverage includes countries such as Belgium, Italy, Spain, South Africa and Greece. The deal will start with the Calgary Flames and Colorado Avalanche game on December 10 and will continue on December 12 with the Boston Bruins outside the Washington Capitals.

To recall, ESPN Player is the multi-device OTT subscription service available in the UK and across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, streaming exclusive premium sports content on demand on more than 40 country.
