African viewers will get lucky this month with DStv and GOtv as the celebration of Africa Day is nearing. Both TV channels are all in to bring home-grown, exciting African content for its local audience. New television programs such as Destinations Africa and The Voice Nigeria, just to name a few will be broadcasted.
Partnering with Wakanow (a travel portal), the Pan-African multi-platform broadcaster, EbonyLife TV generated ‘Destinations Africa’, a travel show of high quality. Each show lasts for half an hour and the series consists of twelve parts. It highlights the most popular tourist destinations across the African countries namely Seychelles, Tanzania, The Gambia, Senegal, Mauritius, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, Ghana, Zambia, Kenya and Nigeria.
‘The Voice Nigeria’, the Nigerian version of the renowned TV series The Voice, will also be broadcasted. African viewership will be well served with the previously mentioned singing competition, coached by locally famous Nigerian singers; Waje, Tubaba, Patoranking and Timi.
On the other hand, AfricaMagic has announced its partnership with Nigerian filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, to launch his much awaited Pan-African thriller, The CEO, as part of commitment to supporting the local entertainment industry and talent. It will premiere solely on board an Air France flight on June from Lagos to Paris.
“This partnership is in furtherance of our continued drive to support Nigerian and African cinema by investing in people, ideas and talent, and we can’t wait for fans and lovers of good cinema to watch this movie”, said Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, Director of M-Net West Africa at the film’s press conference.
