Disney EMEA to introduce ‘So Sammy’ on Disney Channel app

Disney EMEA is readying ‘So Sammy’ on its dedicated app. It will be the first original series for the Disney Channel app.

The series will consist of 10 episodes lasting for two minutes each. The show has been produced by King Bert Productions (founded by comedian Miranda Hart in 2014), together with David Williams (comic and actor) and the BBC Worldwide.

Aiming at six to twelve year olds, the story is about Sammy, who is a vlogger, and her family. It shows the character of Sammy taking to the camera about her friends, family and her new stepmother.

Talking about the show, Miranda Hart says: “I hope kids everywhere will be enchanted by lovely, funny Sammy who gets herself into many silly scrapes and adventures, much to our delight. With the show set in the intriguing world of tween vlogging, it is a perfect fit that So Sammy has its platform on the Disney Channel app”.

Elsewhere, Helene Etzi, GM, Disney Channels EMEA added: “The series demonstrates our commitment to creating shows that resonate with our local audiences and are made in a format that is convenient for them, whether that’s in the comfort of their own home or while they’re on the go”.
