Canadian media production company, DHX Media Ltd, has signed new licence agreements for its children’s entertainment content with Arab-broadcasting network – MBC Group, and Iranian public broadcaster – IRIB.
Sophie Prigent, Territory manager for DHX said that preschool animation content has proven to be consistently in high demand, and programming under licence includes Arthur, Johnny Test, Caillou, Martha Speaks, Sabrina’s Secret Life, The Zack Files, Ella the Elephant and In the Night Garden.
“The central and eastern Europe, Middle East and Turkish regions are burgeoning markets for our programming,” said Prigent. “We are maintaining strong relationships with the major broadcasters and signing increasing number of deals with new VOD platforms – a trend we expect to continue.”
DHX Media also renewed and entered into new licence agreements with broadcasters in Europe and Turkey including Chellomedia Central Europe, Croatia’s RTL Kockika, Polish VOD channel – Onet, Yumurcak TV in Turkey and Prime Media in Kazakhstan.
