The public broadcaster, Cameroon Radio and Television (CRTV) rolled out a brand-new sports channel on Thursday June 6.
The sports channel is the first of its kind in Cameroon and the sub region after the project suffered several setbacks since its conceptualization years ago.
‘’CRTV Sports and Entertainment will offer sports on the national region and beyond the borders as well in order to provide the best entertainment to its audience’’, said, the head of the channel Simon Lyonga.
Its first transmission to mark the launch was a football match between former national team Lions against a team of journalists at the Ngoa Ekele stadium.
The channel will broadcast all live matches of the upcoming Women’s World Cup as well as the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
