Companies outline T-VOD plan for South Africa

Hybrid IPTV software developer,, and South African digital marketing training company, Discover Digital, have outlined plans to jointly deliver Over-the-top (OTT) Transactional VOD (T-VOD)educational and entertainment content in remote and poorly connected areas of South Africa.

“The African market offers a unique opportunity for a hybrid OTT and digital content delivery offering,” said John Watson, chairman of Discover Digital. “We aim to be a key player in the VOD entertainment market in partnerships with both fixed-line and mobile network operators, and provide greater access to key educational content.” will manage the project from its headquarters in Cork, Ireland. Meanwhile, Discover Digital also plans to launch a full OTT T-VOD and Subscription VOD (S-VOD) solution for the sub-Saharan African market in 2014.
