Israeli mobile phone operator, Cellcom, launched a triple-play package of telephony, internet and television services to pave its way through the competition among the mobile phone operators.
Cellcom had initially launched its TV service in December last year which included a basic package for NIS 99 (USD 25.3) monthly for television channels and Video on Demand (VOD) services, movies and children’s programming. It has now expanded its offering to include landline phone and high-speed home internet for NIS 149-169 shekels a month. Cellcom’s TV service has so far signed up nearly 30,000 subscribers,
“This is a significant move with the possibility of real growth from the entry of our triple play, which has huge potential in a market dominated by the HOT/Bezeq duopoly,” said Ami Erel, Chairman at Cellcom.
