Burkina Faso to end transmission of analogue television signals by November 2019

Burkina Faso plans to end the transmission of analogue television signals as from November 2019. This decision was taken during the first meeting of the Burkina Faso Broadcasting Corporation.

This announcement, important in the migration process to digital television, launched 2 years ago, also marks the beginning of the commercialization of the set-top box. The population will have to get their set-top box to access the TV channels of the DTT platform.

During the meeting, the idea of ​​a fee to be paid by the population was issued to finance the upcoming development. Companies in the audiovisual market will also have to pay a tax that will be fixed in the coming weeks by the authorities.
