British historical drama Britannia is set to debut on 19 January across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) on Starz Play, at the same time the show is released in the US.
The nine-part series charts the 43 AD Roman invasion of Britain, where they encounter Celtic warrior women and powerful Druids in their quest for supremacy.
Written by Jez Butterworth who wrote the James Bond film Spectre and plays Jerusalem and The Ferryman, the series has a stellar cast, including The Walking Dead’s David Morrissey Olivier Award-winner Zoe Wanamaker (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone), True Detective’s Kelly Reilly and Mackenzie Crook (The Detectorists, Game of Thrones).
It is the first co-production between Sky and Amazon Prime Video which promises lavish costumes, swords and sorcery. It will be available as a box set on-demand to Starz Play subscribers across MENA from 19 January.
