Bloomberg’s flagship global morning series Daybreak airs from Hong Kong, London, New York, and Sydney and will soon hit Dubai. Bloomberg TV has announced the launch of Bloomberg Daybreak: Middle East. The program will air weekdays at 8 a.m. in the United Arab Emirates, and will originate from the network’s studio in the Dubai International Financial Centre.
Bloomberg Daybreak: Middle East replaces Bloomberg Markets: Middle East. In addition to airing weekdays at 8 a.m. in the U.A.E., it will also air Sundays through Thursdays on Bloomberg TV and Radio. According to a network statement, the Middle East edition of Daybreak “bridges the gap between Asia and Europe’s trading days, looking at the most important business, economic and financial issues shaping global markets, with a focus on the Middle East. The Daybreak broadcast and digital video series is an extension of the Bloomberg Daybreak digital brief for Bloomberg Terminal subscribers.”
European anchor Manus Cranny will be relocating to Dubai from London to co-anchor the new morning show with Yousef Gamal El-Din, and will be joined on air by Tracy Alloway, executive editor of Bloomberg Markets from Abu Dhabi and Dubai. “The relocation of senior anchor Manus Cranny to join our growing network of more than 80 reporters, analysts and economists across 12 bureaus in the Middle East, not only strengthens our global footprint, but gives business and financial professionals deeper access to the region’s newsmakers and market-moving news,” noted Al Mayers, global of Bloomberg Television and Radio.
